IN.SE.CON 2025: Cybersecurity Takes Center Stage in Poznań

The second edition of the International Cybersecurity Congress IN.SE.CON has officially begun in Poznań. Organized by Poland’s Ministry of National Defence and the MTP Group, the event brings together representatives of public administration, the armed forces, and the private sector to address one of the most pressing challenges of the 21st century: cybersecurity.

Over 1,800 participants have gathered at the Poznań International Fairgrounds—marking a 50% increase compared to the inaugural edition. Among the speakers at the opening ceremony were Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Digital Affairs Krzysztof Gawkowski, Deputy Minister of National Defence Cezary Tomczyk, and Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Development and Technology Tomasz Lewandowski. All emphasized that cybersecurity is not just the domain of specialized services and experts, but a shared responsibility of governments, businesses, and citizens.

“Cybersecurity is the one topic that transcends all others today,” said Minister Gawkowski. He noted that Poland currently finds itself on the frontline of a hybrid war with Russia and must be prepared to respond in real time. “Poland now has the best civil-military coordination in the European Union,” he added.

Deputy Minister Tomczyk highlighted the daily threats faced by the Polish Armed Forces. “Polish soldiers work around the clock to defend all of us from cyber threats. When it comes to the military alone, we’re talking about 5,000 to 6,000 cyberattacks on our networks each year,” he said. “Victory will go to those who know how to combine the domains of the 20th and 21st centuries—drones and trenches, satellites and anti-tank ditches.”

Undersecretary Lewandowski stressed the importance of involving entrepreneurs. “Resilience to cyberattacks cannot be built by the public sector alone. Without convincing citizens and businesses to invest in cybersecurity, government actions will fall short.”

Tomasz Kobierski, President of the MTP Group, spoke about the role of trade events in raising awareness and shaping collective strategies. “Trade fairs are a meeting place for people who think about the future—and thinking about the future means thinking about cybersecurity,” he said.

IN.SE.CON features a wide range of debates, technology showcases, and expert meetings across various sectors. Topics include the resilience of critical infrastructure, public-private cooperation, and the role of education in building digital skills.
