Polish Science for Polish Industry: European Science Fair in Poznań
For four days, science meets halls filled with machinery in Pavilion 5 at MTP Poznań EXPO. The European Science Fair, organized jointly by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, and Grupa MTP, takes place from May 26–29 alongside ITM Industry Europe.
Science alongside industrial halls
It is no coincidence that the science fair is located in the immediate vicinity of one of the largest industrial events in Central and Eastern Europe. The organizers aim to bring research institutes and universities into direct dialogue with companies—right where those companies are already present. Each year, ITM Industry Europe attracts hundreds of businesses from around the world to Poznań, and this year’s edition gains an additional dimension through the presence of the scientific community.

Polish science for Polish industry
The initiators of the event emphasize that this is about more than just showcasing research posters. In their view, Polish science must actively support Polish industry, and the commercialization of research results, along with close cooperation with business, is now one of the key priorities of the ministry’s policy. The European Science Fair is part of a broader strategy aimed at removing barriers between the laboratory and the production line.
It also creates a space for dialogue between three environments that typically operate in different languages: science, business, and public administration. The fair is intended to be a place where these perspectives can align—even if only temporarily.
What visitors will see
Exhibitors include research institutes, universities, technology startups, and other organizations involved in the development of science and technology. The program features seminars, panel discussions, and exhibitions, focusing on modern technologies, sustainability, renewable energy sources, and innovation in medicine. These are areas where research outcomes most quickly translate into tangible products and real-world applications.

Why ITM
The choice of location is intentional. ITM Industry Europe brings together several hundred companies from around the world each year and covers a broad cross-section of industrial sectors. It is an environment where interaction between science and business can lead to concrete partnerships.
